Made by a hiker who wanted better map videos.
DDD Maps is a small, focused project for turning GPX routes and favorite places into cinematic map animations without opening heavy editing software.
Hi, I'm Tobias.
I'm a hiker and hobby web developer. DDD Maps started because I wanted a simple way to show where a walk, hike, run, or trip actually happened, with the same feeling I had when I was out there.
I wanted route videos to feel more like the adventure itself, not just a flat screenshot of a line on a map.
I build DDD Maps in my spare time, mostly from the same frustration that creates useful tools: I wanted something clean, fast, and easy to use. The goal is to help people turn outdoor routes, travel memories, and locations into videos that are good enough to share.
Built around real routes
Upload a GPX file from hiking, running, cycling, skiing, or draw a route directly on the map.
Made for creators
Create motion that works for trip recaps, YouTube Shorts, Instagram, TikTok, presentations, and route previews.
Still a personal project
New features come from real use, testing, and the small details that make a route feel alive.
